Together for Justice: Help Ius Omnibus make your protection an everyday reality

Justice for all — not just the few

Every day, millions of European consumers are harmed by illegal business practices — and almost none of them ever see justice. The sums taken from any single person are often small; the harm, multiplied across a market, is enormous. Pursued alone, it is never worth the fight. That imbalance is exactly what lets companies break the law and keep the proceeds.

Ius Omnibus was created to change that.

Since 2020, we have been a non-profit association founded in Portugal and acting for consumers across the European Union. Our purpose is simple: to make sure that companies which break the law are held accountable, and that every consumer — not only the wealthy few — has real access to justice.

Today we have more than 8,000 members, hold a seat on Portugal’s National Consumer Council, and in 2024 were designated a Qualified Entity by the Directorate-General for Consumers under the EU Representative Actions Directive — formal standing to bring collective actions on behalf of consumers. We currently have more than 40 collective actions underway.

We take on Europe’s biggest corporations — and win

When companies treat fines and lawsuits as a cost of doing business, only collective action changes the calculation. Among the cases we are pursuing:

  • The banking cartel. Collective actions against thirteen banks operating in Portugal over an unlawful exchange of commercially sensitive information that ran from 2002 to 2013 — conduct already sanctioned by the Portuguese Competition Authority.

  • Big Tech. Actions against Apple and Google over the commissions charged in their app stores, together representing several million consumers.

  • Across every sector. Cases spanning competition, data privacy, misleading advertising and unfair commercial practices, against companies including EDP, Mastercard, Sony and Unilever.

Each of these began the same way: with consumers who, on their own, had no realistic path to redress. Together, they do. That is the whole point — when consumers unite, even the largest corporations can be made to answer.

That’s why we need your support

Our mission requires independence, courage and resources. Each collective action is a marathon — years of legal work, expert evidence and costs, fought against opponents with effectively limitless means. We cannot do it without people who believe consumers deserve a fair fight.

Every donation, whether large or small, enables us to:

  • Take companies to court when they violate consumer rights on a mass scale.

  • Run awareness campaigns that put rights back into citizens’ hands.

  • Stay independent — funded by the public, never by the corporations we challenge.

By supporting Ius Omnibus, you help build a new paradigm of justice — fairer, more transparent, and open to everyone rather than only those who can afford it.

Together, we can end impunity. Together, we can change the future for European consumers.
